From Diagnosis to Deliverance: How prayer, Persistence, and Yah’s Plants Restored a Mother’s Health By Terrasina Thompson

I have been the caregiver of my mom for the past 3 ½ years. Mom was diagnosed with high blood pressure, stage 3 kidney disease, liver issues, hyperparathyroidism, osteoporosis, and dementia. I must be honest, at first, I truly did not want to be a caregiver. I love my mom dearly but did not think or want it to become a full-time job. None of my wants mattered anymore. My Mom needed me. So, I did no more or less than what Yah intended for me to do.

I was constantly changing my eating habits to get better results for my daughter and myself. So naturally my initial plan was to remove packaged foods, meat, and dairy products as well as harmful body care and laundry products to simple clean ingredients. I continued the medical care with her Primary Physician but began to request that some of the 3 different HBP medications be removed because of the side effects she was having. At this time, I was beginning to learn through Yah's Apothecary.

The doctor referred her to have a Dexa scan, which I was against, so my Dad took her. As we all know, along with the scan came a diagnosis with medication. After researching the medication, I found it would cause brittle bones and fractures. The doctor asked if she was taking the medicine, I said no and explained why. He acted as if he didn't know that the medication would cause broken bones. I began to look more into the musculoskeletal system and how to help with posture and building bone strength. She was also going to a chiropractor as well. The herbs I used were stinging nettle, horsetail, and comfrey (used topically). I had no clue if these herbs and other measures were helping her bones to repair.

As time progressed, I continued to learn with urgency and yes, I did try to memorize the herbs and learn the way we were taught at the schoolhouse. And yes, I was corrected by Sister KhadiYah as I should have been.

It took some time for her BP to become normal as she had been in that state for years. Through much prayer, trial and error in choosing the right herbs, essential oils, exercise, and increasing her fluids, she began to have a normal blood pressure — so much so that the doctor was surprised.

She no longer takes medication,

and I praise Yah for that.

Mom continued to improve, reversing the various illnesses she had, but they have yet to be taken off her chart. In April of this year, Mom fell flat on her back hitting her head on the floor. There was some bleeding and pain in her chest area, so my Dad and I took her to Urgent Care. They did various tests and x-rays to check for bleeding in the brain and broken bones.

The doctor came back to us and told me that she had some fragile bones based on the x-ray and it’s maybe the stage before osteoporosis. Well, I knew that the bone density scan was done a few years ago, and I was quite surprised that they would tell me this. The chiropractor was interested in seeing her physical x-rays so I retrieved them.

His findings were that some areas of her spine were the same as an 18- or 19-year-old person and others showed some weakened bones. He was quite surprised. I have started back applying comfrey oil to her spine and praising Yah for His healing ways.

I now comprehend how important it is to partake of the herbs and experiment with them to see how they can help the body get into balance in various ways. I’m still learning and never will stop. I truly appreciate Yah’s Apothecary and the founder KhadiYah for all her continued knowledge, guidance, and support in helping us to become a community of herbalists that will make a difference in others' lives who are willing to use Yah’s path for total healing.
