A Hands-On Biblical Herbalism Curriculum for the Whole Family

Teach Your Family Herbalism is a full-color, hands-on curriculum designed to help children do more than memorize a list of herbs and what they are “good for.” It teaches them how to observe plants, recognize patterns, understand the human body, explore herbal preparations, and begin thinking like an herbalist.

Created primarily for children ages 4–12, this family-style curriculum combines Biblical teaching with plant science, traditional herbal knowledge, nature study, sensory exploration, experiments, crafts, food, and real herbs. Children explore plant parts and life cycles, botanical families, food as medicine, plant colors, herbal energetics, the respiratory system, tea preparation, and the ways herbal knowledge has been learned and passed down through generations.

Along the way, they get to know foundational herbs such as cinnamon, rosemary, peppermint, ginger, goldenrod, chamomile, elder, dandelion, and others through repeated observation and hands-on experiences.

Lessons include READ THIS sections parents can read aloud, DO THIS activities that turn learning into experience, and additional guidance for parents. Younger children can participate through drawing, smelling, tasting, sorting, building, and observing, while older children can go deeper through writing, comparison, research, and independent study.

Parents do not need to be herbalists to use this curriculum. You can learn alongside your children as you explore the plants Yahuah created and begin building a foundation of herbal knowledge together.

An herbalist learns to pay attention. This curriculum teaches children where to begin.
