When Yah plants a vision in your heart, it often begins with the simplest of passions. For Lauren Parker, that passion was clay, teapots, and a deep love of herbal healing. What started as a childhood joy of sculpting has now grown into Earth to Harmony—a business that blends handcrafted teapots, herbal protocols, and faith-filled living. In this interview, Lauren shares how Yah’s call shaped her path, why herbalism became her lifeline, and the joy she hopes people experience through her art.
Q: What inspired you to start your own business?
A: Yah was my inspiration. When He gave me the inspiration to start my own business, I was at the very beginning of my walk with Him and it was like He was nudging me to take my love of art and create a business that helps people while also glorifying Him.
Q: How did the name come to you, and what does it mean to you?
A: The full name Earth to Harmony actually came to me while listening to Fred Hammond’s song “You Are My Song.” He sings the lyrics, “perfect in harmony.” And I thought those lyrics encapsulated what the business is about—restoring the harmonious tie between us as people, the rest of creation, and The Most High.
Q: How did herbalism first become part of your life?
A: Herbalism became a part of my life when I was experiencing hormonal issues a few years back. I was eating healthy but my period had stopped and I didn’t know why. Long story short, I took an herbal tincture and my period came back. At the same time, my friend Terra Thompson told me about Yah’s Apothecary and right then I knew herbal medicine was the missing piece in my journey to healing.

Q: How did you first get into the art of clay and teapot making?
A: I always loved art and making things with my hands ever since I was a child. I sculpted clay figurines and flowers. Besides my love for art, I also loved hot tea. When I was younger, I would look forward to my mom making it for me when I was sick. So in thinking of what I could sculpt for people, I thought it would be nice to take these two loves and combine them into a cute gift that reflects the feeling of care that I think drinking tea brings.
Q: What’s your favorite tea blend to sip from one of your kettles?
A: I love any blend with ginger in it. I love the spice of ginger, how warm it makes me feel, how it feels on my stomach, and it always seems to be the perfect addition to go with other herbs.
Q: Who did you make your very first teapot for?
A: I believe I made my first tea kettle for my best friend.
Q: What do you hope people feel when they experience your work?
A: I go back to thinking of how I feel when I have a hot cup of tea in my hands. I feel relaxed, focused, calm, peaceful, and centered. I feel like I’m healing when I drink tea and stresses fall away. It is also a great time to have that alone time with Yah; you can reflect and receive revelation. This is what I hope people feel and get not just with my tea kettles but all of my work.

Q: Do you have a favorite scripture that connects to your art and work?
A: “A Psalm of David. The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world, and those who dwell therein.” — Psalm 24:1
Q: What are your goals for your business in the year ahead?
A: My goals for the next year involve my business going in a more herbal business direction. I will still be sculpting my tea kettles as gifts but I also desire to make protocols for people who want to heal from different ailments they may have, as well as make and sell tea blends and tinctures.

As another student shared:
“I hope you continue to share these teachings because I am so new to this and I have took other online courses and I was not happy with the way they presented the course. I have found what I have hoped for in your teachings. I feel good about my future as a herbalist.
You have a beautiful gift thank you for sharing it with us.”
