Peppermint gives a cooling, tingling sensation to the mouth. It is used for sore throats, and mouth and throat infections. Peppermint is used for stomachaches, cramping and indigestion. Peppermint tea is given to babies for colic and teething. It is also used for headaches, and for insomnia or general relaxation. Peppermint is added for flavor in teas, candy and toothpaste. Peppermint oil is used on the skin for joint pains and sore muscles.
