Lupus Protocol

Lupus, or systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), is an autoimmune disease where the immune system attacks healthy tissues, leading to inflammation and damage in various parts of the body. The exact cause of lupus is not fully understood, but it's thought to involve a combination of genetic, environmental, and hormonal factors.

Common symptoms include fatigue, joint pain, skin rashes, fever, and organ involvement (like kidneys, heart, or lungs). People with lupus are at an increased risk of developing other autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, and certain conditions like cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, and kidney disorders.

Lupus primarily affects women of childbearing age, with women being 9 times more likely to develop it than men. Hormonal differences, genetic predisposition, and other factors contribute to this higher prevalence among women.
